Well what the badges are for is they check for them at certain booths/events/panels. Sometimes you may not even notice it at all or they may not even check for it at all. It's like getting a ticket for the skytrain.

well we were standing out in front of the ticketed areas and this guy is like "hey its closing pretty soon do you want to come in this way" he must have thought that we had tickets but didnt want to go all the way around

They have crayons that can do that. There's something that does anything, but who seriously is that devoted to get around paying like 30-35 dollars to go to an animé convention? There's like an entire world for them to take over.
