I only see a handful of movies in theatres a year and this was one of them for this year. Seeing this movie was a combination between being mild intrest and going to see it with classmates.
Anyways, this movie is about some... thing.... attacking New York city and in this movie we are able to see the attack through the point of view of the people there. Now as cool as that is there are some major flaws in that style, such as avoiding plot holes and leaving pretty much ever question unanswered. To be honest with you I left this movie more dizzy and confused than when I entered, which is never the sign of a good movie but rather a cheaper alternative to drinking vodka. Now I won't argue that it was a pretty...ok movie, but only that, just ok. I would, however, enjoy watching a behind the scenes on this movie.
*spoilers*
A few unanswered questions:
What was this thing? - You do get a few crappy camera shots of it but other than Sabi's description of " a mix between Godzilla and Goro from Mortal Combat" you never get a clear sense of what the hell it actually IS.
Where did it come from? It just kinda pops up out of nowhere.
Why did it attack? "Just because it wanted to" is not a good answer.
Did they get rid of it? True, they do bomb it, but there is still no clear proof of it actually dying.
I was informed that if you go to the actual website for the movie you can find more info on some of the questions but I have one problem with that... I DON'T WANT TO PAY $11 FOR A MOVIE THAT FORCES ME TO GO TO A WEBSITE TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS IT WAS SUPPOSED TO ANSWER FOR ME. It's a movie, not a fucking scavanger hunt.
Rating 4/10 It was ok, but you would have to chain me to a chair to force me to watch it again.
