ok so it turns out that there has been a pretty big upset in the music world. appearantly coldplay leadman chris martin has ripped of the rythem for his new song "viva la vida" from the joe satrianni tune "if i could fly".
now i have heard both songs and its pretty obvious that they have the same rythem, and some people even think that joe satrianni stole it from them so he could get free publicityand free money. now that is a pretty big possibility, if coldplay had a lick of talent and a time machine; joe satrianni wrote the song in 1990 and put it on his 2005 record " is there love in space".
now guitar rif sharring isnt that big of a deal, if the origional artist is given proper credit ( ex. rolling stones publicly appologizing to k.d. lang after mistakingly copying riffs from her song), but cold play are just being douch bags about the whole situation.
satriani had tried to call chris martin and talk to him about this matter but martin refused to take his call saying that he was a "nobody guitarist trying to get famous off of the lawsuit". that is going to far, its hard to imagine that a member of coldplay has the balls to call satriani a nobody considering he has inspired more guitarists than coldplay listeners slitting their wrists while listening to viva la vida.
to all you people who try to say that everyone steals guitar riffs, i bite my thumb at you. bands back 20-40 years ago did borrow riffs from each other but they always gave recognition, plus eveyone back then were friends with each other not effing douche bags who cant write their own songs.
ps. of yes i forgot to mention that cold play always rips off song, they effing ripped off the family affairs theme song
