Ok. So I watched this movie about 10 minutes ago about the electric car (Who Killed The Electric Car) and it was trying to tell you that electric cars COULD have saved the environment, but the car and oil companies "killed" it. It almost had me fooled too. I was thinking, "When I grow up I want to get me one of them." Just as the movie wanted me to think. But then they got into the limitations... they said you can get up to 120 miles a charge on one of them. Which would be ideal if you only used it to get to and from work once a day. But what if you had to take a six hour drive to say Liza Lake near lilloote? or any where you go camping without electricity to charge it? well you'd be screwed wouldn't you? so some one (James Thorhaug) suggested "why don't you just rent a car? Well I'll tell you why. I go up there hunting with my dad, or camping with the rest of the family about 3-4 times a year, and by the time someone spent all that money renting cars, they'd already have wasted all the money they saved with not having to buy gas for a "gas guzzler", not to mention the hassle of having to do all that paper work and what not to rent a car. Now it is unfortunate that the electric car "died" because for people who only drive to and from work every day and never go out of reach of power lines it would work. I'm just saying that for many, even most, people it would not work. but those hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, those might work. If there were more places to refuel those, and they weren't so expebsive, then I might consider one of them. But I heard somewhere, that if you get in an accident in one of them, your probabley going to die in a "hydrogen" explosion. I'll just stick to a fuel efficient pick up of some sort for my purposes. Don't get me wrong though, I'm all for saving the environment, but I just don't need an electric Car.
So... if you're at all interested in this stuff, then i suggest you rent the movie "who Killed The Electric Car, or if your Kiirsti, then just watch it before James takes it back to Rogers. But bring tissues, cause even I, a gas guzzler lover, had a little tear in my eye, and a swell in my throat, when they held the funeral for those poor EV ones, then sent them to a isolated race track to be recycled .
